Memories of rainy season in Yangon

It is a wonderful time of year just now.  Although it is winter, it is warm in the daytime, the sky is mostly blue, evenings are cool (verging on cold) and apart from a couple of highly unusual and unseasonal days, we have little or no rain.

So it is strange to think back and remember the torrents of rainy season.

When the rain comes down, it does so thick and fast.  And warm!!

You often just have to sit it out and wait until it eventually subsides.

Of course, one consequence is the lush vegetation.

And you can see how much rain there is in the dark, threatening skies.

These heavy skies provide a dramatic backdrop for Shwedagon.
